.mac not sending mail

I use Mail to connect through .mac and can receive mail but, since a few hours ago, can not send mail. Anybody else having the same problem?



Anything to do but wait?

    i had the same problem, it turned out to be my ISP blocking the port. I have it set to use port 143

    Things are working again, but I didn't change a thing, so I guess something was up with Apple's server. My computer, my wife's, my work machine (in another town) and a friend's across town were all affected for a total of about 7 hours, maybe more because I went to sleep for the night.

    Which port was being blocked?
