Replacing the lid on a powerbook 12"
Hey guys,
I have a MBP now and I want to give my 12" powerbook to my little sis' for christmas.
I put a nasy ding on the very top and want to get that fixed.
I can buy a new lid on ebay for about $20 - $30 but I don't know if I want to replace it myself (is it easy? illustrations?)
How much would it cost for it to be replaced at an apple store (if I have the lid with me) so all they would have to do is the labor?
Thanks a lot, definitely appreciate the help.

If you take it to Apple they will simply replace the entire display unit $$$.
Here are the most comprehensive guides I know of but they don't cover that deep a fix.
Is there really no way to detach the display and remove the top lid?
that link will definitely help, thank you.

Well on a TiBook it requires glue to close the thing back up. I'd advise asking the eBay seller how easily they removed the part (and can they give you instructions?)
