Lots of improvements, multi-processor, faster Video-CD encoding and Yamaha CDR-F1 T@2ing support.

Installer was a disaster for scores of early adopters. MPEG1 encoder does not function properly at all. Not the real release was up last night. Just be glad it didn't delete our 5.1.4 copies.

    Should I get Toast Titanium?

Is it necessary considering my Powermac Quicksilver 2002 comes with burning software built in?

Also if I ordered it online now what is the chance that I will get the latest version.

It does way lot more than the OS will let you. Definitely worth it. You'll have to wait a month to make sure you get the new version on the CD-ROM.

dang it.. did i do something wrong? i downloaded the Toast 5.2 update and then after it was installed i tried to open it to see what was different and it crashes.... I updated it from my 5.1.3 that was working fine... should i have taken my Toast and updated it to 5.1.4 before jumping to 5.2.0?

Im on Mac OS X 10.1.5 384 MB of ram.

VersionTracker is full of scores of negative feedback comments about the installer and crashes on launch. I had a successful update install with my 5.1.4 in 10.2.1. But most reporters didn't. I noticed that you must not install at the root level. Read the install notes before installing.

VersionTracker says that the downloads were hosted by Roxio. Somebody screwed up at Roxio big time.

No problems with the updater here. I haven't burned any discs though, so the usability of the app is stilla question mark. Everything *looks* okay though.

Yeah, I'm definitely waiting a few more days before updating -- if I decide to update AT ALL. Crikey, just look at all those one-star reviews with major problems.

Currently 5.1.3 functions perfectly fine for me on 10.2.1. No need to go fix something that isn't broke. After all, there are absolutely no new features in 5.2 that I can use without buying one of those fancy new "drawing" CD burners. I never make VCDs; so, that update is worthless too.

    Fooey!
