Help! iChat, .Mac, AIM

Can .Mac addresses contact AIM screen names / have video conferences with them?

    I don't see why not. I haven't been using .Mac in iChat though because all of my Contacts are already in my AIM Buddy List and I didn't want to switch them over. Try it with one of your contacts (I assume you already have a few in AIM) to see if it works.

    i’ve that big problem too, my girlfriend bought an apple… i have a pc using the last version of AIM… well, we cannot have a video session working… if i invite her all is black… if she invites me the system replied with an "unknown failure"… so what we can do?

    I asked on the biggest Italian Apple users forum too and they told me that's impossible having a video session pc/mac with AIM, telling me to use Skype cuz of its high mac/pc compatibility.

    It's the best (free) method of video chatting with a PC I've encountered thus far.

    Well, it seems i'm not the only one to have the same problem, read this post:

    We didn't try Skype yet, and she's a laptop, but the problem is the same!

    Any idea?

    As others have already suggested, use Skype.
