Quake III

Hi,

I want to get Q3 on OSX.

I've read that it's possible with a Linux version, which i have, by dragging the pak0.pkg to the baseq3 folder.

I've tried installing the altivec and ioquake updates

None of them seem to work for me. So do i need OS9 for this? Because, i've read alot about people updating it in OS9, and people simply dragging the pak0.pkg file in the baseq3 folder.

What am i doing wrong?

I was able to run Quake 3 on OS X as a Universal Binary with my Windows-based Quake 3 data folder. I believe I used the one from http://www.sqonk.com.au/Quake3-MacOSX-IntelDevBox.zip ; not sure.

Sorry for the question, but what am i supposed to point out as the retail installation?

I've even pointed the CD and everything as retail installation

i'm dutch, and my english isn't superb, so i don't know what it means with retail installation.

    Thanks for your help anyways

Edit: found retail installation, after selecting, it says: wrong product identification
