So is there a chat room or something for a few hours before the keynote? How do we connect via iChat? Anyone know? For "Life is Random" (2005 January(?) keynote) there was "Appleinsider" chat room one could go to....................

You can have up to 4 people (-1 to include yourself in there) in a Video Chat

    10 in an Audio Chat

and I don't know how many, but probably some insanely High Number in a Text Chat

Anybody can try to contact me in iChat or Skype by clicking the little icons below my name, but I haven't logged on in over a week.

File... Go to chat... type in Appleinsider, then suggest that everyone else interested do so as well. Pretty simple.

Keynotes are always at 10:00 AM Pacific Standard Time.

Jobs is usually about 7 minutes late getting started though.

It's 9am. "Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO, will deliver the opening keynote address for Macworld Conference & Expo. Macworld will be held at San Francisco's Moscone Convention Center January 8-12, 2007, and the keynote address will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. [Pacific Standard USA Time] at Moscone West."

Yeah, that's the best thing, just for chat room to get lots of people to go there leading up to the keynote and during the keynote, it's good fun and people collect info from various "live reporting" sites so we get a good flow and discussion of what's happening.

Cool, I never knew about that.

One question though... AOL or Jabber?

    I'm guessing AOL

Would I be able to access the chat room from AIM? If so, I'm already there

Likely, but you'll have to look in AIM to see if you can. iChat is basically a custom AIM client anyways, with a couple of different protocols thrown in.

You should be able to, AFAIK the chat room is an AOL AIM protocol thing that iChat is compatible with, not the other way round. You should be able to just log into the chat room now, through AIM, only thing it will be empty, I presume...

It was empty when I checked, I think I'll sign into it now and see if anyone else signs in
