volume trouble and how to see how big several files are together
1. I can't control my mbp volume from the keyboard all of a sudden. When I try to turn it down it shows me the icon and the bars diminishing, I also get the click sound but volume stays max all the time. Same goes for the mute function. I can still control volume from apps, but not on the keyboard. What gives?
2. When I select a bunch of files in finder and choose "get info" from the dropdown an information dialog opens for each individual file. How do I open one for the whole selection so that I can see how big all the files are together.
thanks in advance

Regarding your keyboard issues, try restting the PRAM. I think it still works on the MBP. Anyone?
Do Apple-option-i to get all the info in one window. Alternately, hold down the option key when selecting the drop down menu item. "Get Info" should change to "Show Inspector".
That'll work or if you want a traditional non-floating non-updating Info window, you can use Control-Option-I
Thanks for the replies folks. My sound problem disapeared by itself so I dunno what it was, just hope it doesn't come back.
My MBP has done this as well. I had turned off the noise indicator when using the keyboard to adjust volume on my old mac (that was then transfered to this one). Once I activated the sound the problem disappeared
