Folder with a ? in it.. Help!

I have just plugged in my keyboard and a usb mouse and turned on my Mac G3...



It comes up with a Folder with a question mark in it, what the heck???? ive been told its an input fault



Im stuck, the keyboard is a apple standard one but the mouse is a aftermarket one...



Ive used a different keyboard (used on windows pc) but still the same....



Any help much appreciated!!!

    The folder with a question mark means it can't find your system folder. Boot up holding the alt-key and see if any drives appear. If none appear, you need to repair your system with a reinstall. Choose archive and install to avoid overwriting any files. You might want to try running Disk Utility before a reinstall to see if something just messed up.



    This is most likely nothing to do with what keyboard you are using.
