Conjecture: Great expansion of games with true Video iPod
It seems to me that the controls on the current iPod put a severe limitation on iPod games. You can only do so much with the click wheel. If the patents for touch sensitive bezels and such end up appearing in a new iPod, this limitation may be lifted.
Combined with a 640 X 480 screen - many laptops and even desktop displays were 640X480 not too many years ago - and you might have a decent little game machine. Perhaps a heftier processor would help too. And with the iTunes store, there's already a terrific infrastructure for selling games. No need to go to Walmart.
I bet the Video iPod will usher in a new emphasis on games, and greater competition with the PSP and DS.

I was thinking about this also... I would like to see what could be achieved with the "mechanical overlay" incorporated into the iPod and the ApplePhone concepts. This could give much, much greater flexibility for apps and functionality that we can't even dream of at this point... much as we will try.
Yeah true, and what about those patents for snap on controls. i.e. a small little joystick that would plug into the dock port and rest in the click wheel. That would be cool too.
I think we are referring to the same thing... Mechanical overlays. You know what they say... "Twisted minds think alike."
I posted my post before your post existed, you just got their first. Indeed we are thinking alike. Great minds think alike, and fools seldom differ.
I think I thought what you thought was what I thought you were thinking.

That's what you think!
PS If you notice this notice, you will notice that you are noticing this notice, and you will be aware of that fact that the person who wrote this notice knew not only that you would notice this notice, but that you would be aware he knew you would notice this notice, and that you would notice that too.
What's this about "mechanical overlay?"
Here.
