Problems installing Toast 7 Titanium

I am a new Mac user -- I got my C2D MBP in December -- and I have just purchased a boxed, retail version of Toast 7 Titanium and dowloaded the latest update 7.1.2 from the Roxio website. Once the download was complete, I ejected the start-up disc and re-started my computer. When I now go to open Toast, I get the following message:

"The volume for Toast 7 Titanium cannot be found. Insert the disc or connect to the server volume and wait for it to appear on the desktop, then try again."

I don't understand what it means by "server volume", and it seems crazy to have to insert the start-up disc everytime I want to use the program. What am I doing wrong? Please help!
