is this the new iMac?
A thread discussed a recent patent that Apple just applied for. It is linked to images that I just found that seem to fit the new iMac.
Actually, clicking on the link works, LOL

Comments
but apple doesn't get patents for no reason (remember when we found the patent for what would eventually become the apple pro speakers?), so i believe this will morph into something of apple's -- maybe tomorrow. maybe later.
geez, tomorrow's gonna take too long to get here...

<strong>Do they say Apple patents anywhere?</strong><hr></blockquote>
I didn't read it but someone said towards the bottom Apple is mentioned and also that it runs MAC OS.
Here is the actual patent-here

hmmmm... <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />
but the verbal description is spot on to some of our theories on these boards (touch screen, removable, transportable, yadda, yadda, yadda)

Where do you have this from?
Oh thanks. I had no idea that such things occurred. Perhaps when I graduate from the first grade, I'll be able to grasp such subtleties (dripping sarcasm completely intentional).

Here is the actual patent-
<a href="http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=/netahtml/PTO/search-bool.html&r=16&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=" target="_blank">http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=/netahtml/PTO/search-bool.html&r=16&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=</a> PG01&s1='apple+computer'&s2=portable&OS=
For some reason Apple is mentioned and in BOLD for whatever reason, but the Mac OS isn't mentioned in the OS's that could run on it. Unix is tho, but now I'm confused.
I guess you skipped this page:
<a href="http://aiw2.uspto.gov:80/.aiw?docid=us20010017761ki&PageNum=5&IDKey=10DABCF FB693&HomeUrl=http://appft1.uspto.gov:8080/netacgi/nph-Parse" target="_blank">http://aiw2.uspto.gov:80/.aiw?docid=us20010017761ki&PageNum=5&IDKey=10DABCF FB693&HomeUrl=http://appft1.uspto.gov:8080/netacgi/nph-Parse</a>
and this one:
<a href="http://aiw2.uspto.gov:80/.aiw?docid=us20010017761ki&PageNum=9&IDKey=10DABCF FB693&HomeUrl=http://appft1.uspto.gov:8080/netacgi/nph-Parse" target="_blank">http://aiw2.uspto.gov:80/.aiw?docid=us20010017761ki&PageNum=9&IDKey=10DABCF FB693&HomeUrl=http://appft1.uspto.gov:8080/netacgi/nph-Parse</a>
both of which talk about running any of several PC operating systems, most likely Microsoft Windows.
That said, it's a pretty nifty notion. How did you (or the original poster) stumble across it?
