The battery sign on my new Macbook is showing as X.
When I disconnect from the mains... it doesn't work.
I've looked around and can't see the battery being physcially disconnected.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.
Omar

You might have a bad battery. Basically the X means the computer can't detect it.
A similar thing happened to a friend of mine's Macbook. It will be replaced under warranty if it's faulty.

This is the wrong forum for this type of post.
I originally said "current hardware", but this really should be in the "genius bar".
sorry.

Errr, it doesn't really matter anymore. The problem was solved with Apple sending a new Battery.
