The people behind The Pirate Bay should be publicly executed -- I think the phrase is "Shot and pissed on."

I work for a relatively big company, have direct access to most of the common applications on the market, and have no need to download from TPB.

But, generally publishers don't charge a fare and balanced price for software and audio/video.

The Pirate Bay is simply a natural reaction.

Capital punishment should be abandoned in civilized society.

Even the biggest criminals of our times (Stalin, Hitler, Bush, etc.) should not be executed. These specimens should be preserved, and studied by scientists. This approach would help to avoid future mistakes.

That's what you think -- we'll do them, the spammers, and the people who let J.J. Abrams meddle with the Star Trek franchise.

JJ Abrams kicks ass. I can't get enough Alias and Lost.

Abrams seems to do okay at first, but either runs out of creative ideas or gets tangled up in his own story arcs.

Alias and Lost have both lost audiences because they needed extended time away from the screen so the writers could figure out where to take each series.

He might have been a good choice for a Trek movie, but the prequel thing is killing the franchise.

It's called Star Trek. Boldly go into the future already.

You are a Bona Fide Heretic!

Look, I was good with seasons 1 & 2 of Alias -- and season 1 of Lost -- but after it became painfully apparent Abrams and his team had no frakking idea where they were going, (he says as much in the Lost bonus materials)....

    ....Off with his head!!

Why limit the study to criminals? There are plenty of dumb*sses in this world that should have never been conceived in the first place. Child birth is an action that shouldn't be performed by everybody.

Couples will have to receive governmental approval to produce offspring.

If so, planned parenthood will take on an entire new meaning, and what if two couples apply for the same "child specifications". Do you then get a lawsuit for trademark infrignement on a person?

You could get into predetermination: we propose the production of a single male unit that will be capable of performing meanial labor for above-average wages.

    Planned, trademarked, designer populations.

I'm with you 100%. I didn't even watch season 5 of Alias because I was so pissed of at the end of the season 4 finale ("I'm not really Michael Vaughn!"). I was willing to hold on a little longer than you, it seems. Lost seemed promising, but so did Alias. J.J.Abrams' story telling ability is pathetic. He's had two good ideas already this decade, but if you don't know where the story is headed in an arc-intensive series, no-one will be happy in the end. I just hope that Ron Moore (Battlestar Galactica) knows where he's headed! Babylon 5 spoiled TV for me! The production value (and often the acting) may have been lower than some of the more recent SciFi shows, but at least JMS could write a story!

I hear you, my wife netflixed the last episode of season 4 last night, and I burst out laughing at the final scene. What a load of nonsense.

Seasons 1 and 2 of BSG guarantee that Ron Moore is a god among men (and his team). Even if the series goes completely to hell, we'll always have Caprica.
