Question about my MBP - Red light

Hey guys. Ok something weird has happend to my MBP, the headphone slot emits a red light, it never did that before! Am I going crazy or someting? What does that mean? How do I stop it?

    OH no, I just realized, my laptop speakers arent working anymore, and thats probbly why the red light is show

    Did you have a pair of headphones plugged in before this happened?



    If so, plug them in again and wiggle the plug slightly when you remove it.



    This is a common problem with the MBP (and likely the MB, too) so you might want to take it in and have it repaired under Applecare.

    To illuminate a bit more (*rimshot*)...



    The red light is the optical audio laser engaging. For some reason, it mistakenly thinks that you plugged in (and still have plugged in) an optical audio jack.

    Ok I guess thats the problem! but I keep wiggling and itsnot help! arrg!

    Caution. Do not look directly at laser with remaining eye.

    Mine does that, but only when I'm in Bootcamp. I thought it was some kind of laser light show that was part of the Windows UI.
