Mounted server volumes disconnecting

My company has a half Windows and half Mac client computers. All servers are Windows 2000 servers. If a Mac client has a server volume mounted through afp and the Windows server is restarted the only way the Mac can reconnect is if we restart the computer. This is a major hassle and I would like to know if anyone knows how to resolve this issue.

    You probably don't need to restart because most things in OS X including networking programs can be rebooted while you are still logged in. I'm not sure exactly what it is you'd need to reboot though.



    One thing you can try is:



    sudo SystemStarter restart



    This basically restarts some services that launch when you boot OS X.
