Linksys wireless help

Hi, I'm having trouble getting wireless, here is my setup:

My house has a cable modem in the basement and has prewired RG45 cable to several outlets. I assume there is a switch involved but I don't have access to the modem. I am able to run wired either directly from the outlet or adding the Linksys 802.11b (BEFW11S4.V2) router to one of the outlets.

I have gone through the setup for wireless and can pick up the SSID. When I unplug the wire and go wireless I am able to see the SSID and airport status shows the green light but I am unable to access the internet. Can anyone please help with this?

I have an Aluminum PB G4 running 10.4.8.

Thanks!

Are you getting an IP address in the tcp/ip tab in your network preferences? Can you do software updates but not browse the net?
