10.4.8 system sound: "tap" when playing audio files

I got this 1.66 ghz Mini recently, and I noticed that, for example, when I play a file in Quicktime, when it begins playing it makes this "tap" noise that I presume is a system or Quicktime sound.



When I play the game StarCraft, the noise goes off like crazy, because every time an audio file loads in the game (any sound at all) I hear the noise.



Any idea how to turn that off? Turning off system sounds doesn't seem to work.

    If I were you I'd take the Mini to where you bought it, or the nearest Genius Bar, because that issue is definitely not normal. I think the reason no one else has replied is because no one here has dealt with that issue.
