UFS still a bad idea?
I am in the process of writing an application for OS X Server and i'm hoping some of those more aquainted with Apple can answer this.
Is UFS ever going to be actually supported or are there any plans to make HFS+ case sensitive? I'm wrangling the company CVS server on OS X Server and it's starting to become a problem.
For those who might not understand, try this.
shell$ mkdir honk
shell$ cd HONK
shell$ pwd
/Users/someguy/HONK
shell$ cd ..
shell$ cd HonK
shell$ pwd
/Users/someguy/HonK
This is a major black eye for OS X. This is, in m y not-so-damn-humble opinion, like windows still having the 6x3 filename limit.
Now, I love Apple as much as anyone but they had better fix this if they are serious about moving the Xserve into the small to midrange server market.
I cant help but hope in my heart of hearts that Apple might move to UFS.
