I am riping an excersice video and for some reason it only rips in white and black, Its a Mpeg format that i am riping to a DVD+R to watch on my DVD player. have a Imac Intel with the DVD ripper that the Imac brings and i am using Roxio Toast 8.0 to rip it.

I know that the Ripper form the computer is a MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-846, and the Dvd that I bougt are DVD + R. Whta diferrence does it make and why is it ripping in black and White?

That's got to be a software issue. Not sure what exactly.

    I figured it out.

PAL ripps in black and white anfd the NTSC option in colors.

So Use the NSTC Option if your ripping with Roxio Toast 8.0, at least that worked for me.

NTSC is the American video standard, PAL is the better part of the rest of the world. The reason PAL looks black and white is that your NTSC (American) equipment can't read the color info in a PAL encoded signal.
