Applications Not Being Recognized

Hello,

I copied the folder of Dreamweaver, After Effects and Fireworks from one Applications folder to another Applications folder on another powerbook, but the applications were not recognized as such, and would not execute. What could be the cause of this? Are there hidden files somewhere on the system that tell OSX to treat certain files as executables? I checked the permissions on the original system, and the file permissions are the same on both systems.

Thanks,

-Chris

Make sure they have the .app extension. Get info in the Finder, and select Name & Extension.

What exactly happens when you try to launch these applications? Do they act like folders now? Or they just don't launch?
