Wireless mighty mouse problems

Hello all, a friend of mine gave me a wireless mighty mouse for my Macbook Pro. I enjoy it but not a fan of the trackball, so far I'm on my second one in three months & still having trackball issues. I went out to the Apple Store & their idea of a cleaning kit is a cloth but that doesn't seem to help, I gone as far a using a very small amount of isopropyl alcohol with the cloth but not showing any positive results. Can anyone suggest any ideas to fix the issue?

    I turn mine upside down and clean the ball with a wet cloth.
