So let's see, we've had Cheetah, Puma, Jaguar, Panther, Tiger and Leopard. Running out of big cats....

Ocelot? Sabertooth? Lion doesn't seem to work, for some reason. Bobcat doesn't sound very fierce. I'm going to go with Lynx.

Lion's a possibility...? Possibly Ocelot? Lynx would be cool though.

Or just go the Napoleon route and choose Laeger or Liger or however you spell it.

Well if you look up the real animals, you'll see a distinctive pattern. The effectiveness as hunters. The Cheetah being the worst while the Leopard being the best. Believe it or not, The Cheetah doesn't catch most of the prey it hunts. And starves to death. Hence the endangerment. The Leopard however, is the most effective hunter in the big cat family.

I know, I know, I'm reading too far into it. But I love doing that. lol.

In all honesty though, I think Leopard might be the last. Several years ago Steve Jobs made the comparison of the Panther-Tiger-Leopard transition to XP-Longhorn-Blackcomb. I think Leopard will be the last of OS X. At least OS X as we know it.

So you don't Lion would work, but you do think Ocelot would? Most people would be like; "What the hell is an Ocelot?" I think people would hear Lynx as Linux, which for that reason it would not be a great idea. The name is not overly important, but why not give it what they think it a good name, or the best one available. I happen to think Leopard by far sounds the best of all the names so far, it's just more mystical sounding for some reason. They may drop the cat thing after Leopard. The may go with just OS 11.

If Leopard goes well, it'll be Lion: King of the OSes. If not, Pussy: Queen of the Litterbox.

    I'll go punish myself now.
