I'm not sure if that has sufficient reason to implement. Mail might need to have color coding to see at a glance what priority a conversation has, I don't think the same is necessary of music. Smart Playlists can be used very powerfully to define what does and does not belong in a playlist, it doesn't offer color coding though.
I think this is a great idea, I mean with music collections of 40-50 gigs being fairly common now-a-days it would be great to have a real visual way of sorting through your music more quickly.
