airport extreme with gigabit switch
Does anyone know if this is possible:
Seeing how the new airport extreme comes with 3 lan ports at 10/100, I am looking to hook up my gigabit switch to it because that is what all my computers run on at home "gigabit". Of course this is simple enough to do gigabit port to one of hte extreme lan ports. But I want to know if it would be possible to connect maybe 2 or 3 of the gigabit ports to 2 or 3 of the extreme lan ports. I figured this way I could in theory obtain up to 300Mb/s from my gigabit switch to the new airport extreme.
Reason for this is because if I want to stream HD content over the network I need arround 8MB/s or 64Mb/s from waht I understand. If more then 1 computer wants to watch a movie from the usb2 drive that is connected then I need over the available 100Mb/s per port.
any ideas on how I can achieve over 100Mb/s from the gigabit switch to teh extreme?

Both your gigabit switch and the Airport Extreme router should operate in full-duplex mode, which means your effective bandwidth is 200Mb/s.
I don't think you'll be able to stream true HD material real-time over a full-duplex gigabit line regardless.
