12" powerbook memory upgrade
i tried searching for some suggestions on upgrading memory in my powerbook. i currently have a 12 inch powerbook used for school. Being a photo major and all, i deal with alot of digital files. compressed and uncompressed files and the use of photoshop as well as other adobe programs. I have a Lacie 250gig external for storing and backing up files. my memory consists of only 512mb and its slowly growing on me that i need to upgrade, i noticed alot of lag now in loading some things and especially when using dashboard, takes a good 2-5 seconds to appear.
after looking on the apple site, the price for 1 gig seems a bit outrageous. it was $300 for 1 gig? i would like to know what most of you guys are using and suggest. also, i cannot take the memory that came with the computer can i? there are 2 256mb sticks in there right now. id like to upgrade to more than a gig. is that possible?
thanks guys

You need one 1 GB PC2700 DDR SO-DIMM (200 pin). You can get those at about any place you want, you don't need the expensive original Apple RAM. Here in Switzerland, they cost around 120 USD.
Removing the old RAM stick and installing the new one is very easy, see

Try:

Or:

(I'm assuming you are in the US)
Good luck. 8)
You can actually get a 2gig stick for the 1.5 models. My rev A only goes to 1gig.

No 2gb stick for the PowerBook 12inch 1.5ghz though, unfortunately. Only 1gb for 1.25gb max.
