Hi all i'm thinking about geting the game Max Payne and i have a new dual 867mhz...is it a good game and does it run well in os x? i love os x so that's why i ask.
Anyone that has it please post as i like to know if it's worth it's money.
I don't have it personally, but my friend with a DP 1 GHz system has it and it runs awesome. In fact he said he was playing the game while listening to iTunes, downloading a file, and burning a CD, all while have a smooth playable Max Payne running on 10.2.
Cool! I try to top him and run office x photoshop 7 burn a cd in iTunes play a DV movie and have RTCW in the background while playing Max I'll tell if my Mac is still alive by the end of it all <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />
I have read some reviews but i'm not %100 sure that i get it....is this game a FPS or not? I mean can you walk around like in Quake 3 and see the gun in your hand?
It's a third person game. If you don't like third person games (where the view is behind and above your character), then you shouldn't get it.
BTW, it works great in OS X on my dual 500. In fact, it works better in OS X than in OS 9, which I think has to do with the fact that I have newer drivers for my ATi Radeon in OS X than in OS 9 (there are some errors with ATi cards that are fixed with the latest drivers).
it ran just fine on a 733MHz g4, so i assume it will run just fine on your machine (assuming you arn't doing unessessary things in the background...wow that was too many s's) ok, but i normally dong like 3rd person games, but this games pulls it off, normally with 3rd person its harder to see and the game play just isn't as real, but the way the game is setup it almost has to be. I think you'll enjoy it if you like games games, and it will run fine again
The game is boring as hell. I played it for, like, 2 hours total and haven't picked it up since.
It's just like Tomb Raider only it sucks. The camera angles are horrible, the gameplay is subpar to say the least, and the big 'feature' of the game (bullet mode) get real old real fast.
Don't waste your money.
Get Return to Castle Wolfenstein. It's a FPS but it's a good one. I'm not a big fan of FPS's either but I really enjoyed RtCW.

I think you'll be happy with the performance.
