Router question

Hi. I have a PC at the moment but I will be switching to a Mac in the not too distant future. I have 2 PC's in my home connected to the 'net via a wired router (Linksys BEFSR41 if that matters). That means that all my actual connection data is stored in the router, and Windows is just set to "automatically obtain an IP". Will that work OK in OSX? One of my biggest fears in switching is that I'll screw up my internet connection .

Thanks,

    No worries, mate. [/sunilraman]

I second that. Seriously, OS X will get its own IP via DHCP without you having to set up anything. It just works, remember?

Your Router is DHCP so as long as you also select DHCP in Network - System Preferences (which is default) it will run easily.

If you want to be a server, manually configure is need as DHCP in dynamic, the IP number change every time you restart.
