Bill Gates talking smack in Newsweek
I found this pretty interesting
So Bill is saying that OSX is actually a copy of Vista , but since Microsoft is so anal at building a secure Operating system, Apple could somehow release it 6 years ahead of them.
Then He goes on to say that microsoft invented the menu bar..
NewsWeek:In many of the Vista reviews, even the positive ones, people note that some Vista features are already in the Mac operating system.
Bill Gates:You can go through and look at who showed any of these things first, if you care about the facts. If you just want to say, "Steve Jobs invented the world, and then the rest of us came along," that's fine. If you?re interested, [Vista development chief] Jim Allchin will be glad to educate you feature by feature what the truth is. I mean, it?s fascinating, maybe we shouldn't have showed so publicly the stuff we were doing, because we knew how long the new security base was going to take us to get done. Nowadays, security guys break the Mac every single day. Every single day, they come out with a total exploit, your machine can be taken over totally. I dare anybody to do that once a month on the Windows machine. So, yes, it took us longer, and they had what we were doing, user interface-wise. Let?s be realistic, who came up with [the] file, edit, view, help [menu bar]? Do you want to go back to the original Mac and think about where those interface concepts came from? (my emphasis added)

So Wikipedia is right, Bill gates is wrong.
So you feel in 2010-2011 Microsoft will be back with the next big one?
Absolutely. We'll tell you how Vista just wasn't good enough, and we'll know why, too. We need to wait and hear what consumers have to tell us. We don't know that, otherwise, of course, we would have done it this time.
In other words, I can't answer that question until Leopard is shipping and we've had some time to take a good look at it.
I gotta go show this to my Window Zealot friend...and then shove all the "Facts" Gates made down his throat.
Nothing quite like shoving something down someone's throat, is there ?
Make it personal - use your boot !

Ha nope, nothing quite like that. Especially as he says he has "International connections who could hack my Mac any day." Come to think of it, I wouldn't call him my friend...more of an...hmmm...a person I know lol. Quite an annoying person really.

"What do I have to do to make this pig fly ?"
Sorry Bill - peeps aren't buying in because they don't perceive that they actually NEED it.
Not to mention the price is too high & the hardware requirements are too tough for Ultimate.
"Waddayamean I gotta buy a new machine ?
That's a straight out tax, right there.
FU I'll stick with what I've got."
Wake up, Bill.
Consumers aren't taking you at face value anymore.
(Jeez I thought XP would have been a hint to them.)
