Gamesprockets: Is it required?

I've been trying to free up disk space on my 2 gig HD and noticed Gamesprockets uses quite a bit of space.

I'm running 8.6 on a 5 year old 8600 Powermac (which, so far, has run great).

My questions are these:

1) What does it do?

2) Do I need it? (I hardly play games)

3) I never put the Gamesprockets lib files in my system folder. Should they be put in? (In fact, whenever I download and install software, I never put the extensions or lib files in my system folder. Doesn't the install process do this automatically?)

4) What other Apple software can be deleted without causing problems?

5) Where can one buy OS 9.1 for a good price?

Thanks to all who answer.

gamesprockets are joystick drivers. If you don't play any games requiring a joystick, you can delete them.
