Normally I am not one to go around and start rumors but apple left me a voicemail which I?d like you all to hear. For those without sound it is a basically person from apple saying they are partnered up with parallels and want some input. I do not believe I can post a audio recording so you can listen to it here:

If that voicemail is legit (it sounds plausible enough to me), I don't see how you get from it to "Leopard to include Parallels." It sounds like he's saying that Parallels gave Apple a customer list, that's all.

Well he did say they partnered with them, and why else would they be calling parallels customers asking how they liked it?

Apple sells Parallels now. Why would they bundle it?

To make sure they should keep selling it at their stores and online. Makes sense. You're reading FAR too much into it. No way is a $129 product going to include a $80 product for free.

If it means getting the corparations to switch over to mac, yes it does. They are defintly pushing to get the XServes into datacenters i do have a pdf from that same guy i can upload a little later once i blur out the emails. Not saying parallels will be run in datacenters but if they are pushing for that i don't see why they wouldnt want workstations aswell

In order to use that 129$ product you also need to buy the expensive hardware so its not just 80 out of 129 to them. If it helps a sale then you betchya they will add it.

Also they could just have a new campaign buy a mac get parallels free.

Either way something is going to happen.

Apple does not care so much about corps and corps don't care about paying an extra $80. Apple would not bundle it in for free. If they'll pay $500 for Vista and $200 for VMWare, then Apple would be stupid to bundle it in for free.

XServes are different - the OS is $999 there. But again what's another $80? And Apple does not push to corps - as much as we all wish them to do so.

So no, they will not be bundling Parallels for free with OS X. Apple has shown no signs towards being a low price leader here. Bundling as in - buy Leopard with Parallels for only $200! - then sure. But not for free.
