Scanned Picture Troubles...

Hey guys, I just got a CD of about 75 pictures that were scanned by the Cleveland Public Library for a documentary I'm doing for National History Day. In Preview, the pictures look great, but when I import them into iPhoto, the thumbnail is black, and when I look at the picture it looks like a negative. This is for all the pictures. Can anyone tell me what's going on and how to fix this? Thanks for the help.

    Maybe the images are CMYK instead of RGB. I don't know if you can convert them in Preview but a few image editors will.

    Oh, forgot to mention - the pictures are of Henry Ford so they're all black and white...
