Firewire suddenly quit working on iBook 466

Some background: the port has never been used much, at all. Suddenly two days ago, on an otherwise perfectly funtioning Graphite iBook SE 466, FireWire suddenly quit working. I have run AppleJack, OnyX, 10.4.8 Combo Update, reset nvram and all, zapped the PRAM, and performed a PMU reset. Target Disk Mode doesn't work either. Finally, the power light on the drive does come on, and stay on, but the drive never mounts. The drive DOES mount fine on my other Macs, though. After all this, FireWire drives still don't even show if I boot from my Tiger disc. Any ideas?

Try changing the firewire cable it maybe causing some problems.

Does the firewire show under system profiler?

Well, I've tried 3 different cables, and while the PORT does show in System Profiler, anything connected to it does NOT. Any other suggestions?

    FABULOUS: AppleJack states:

FireWire (OHCI) Apple ID 18 built-in: no valid selfIDs for more than 2 minutes after bus reset.
