i have a theory that leopard will have hidden feature. i feature that will let you run direct x and the other neccesarry stuff to run windows games and other graphics programs with no windows in any way on your system. i am a very happy camper with my iMac but i still itch to play elder scrolls and not give my brother the satifaction of using windows on my computer. do you blieve that we will have this feature??

Congratulations you are the 10,000th person on the web to have this theory.

Oblivion is most probably the worst game ever made. Surely, if you need to boot up Windows, it's for SOMETHING less tortuous, like say cleaning up your registry file, or stabbing out your eyes?

No chance. Instant death of the mac software market, anyone?

Boot Camp is Apple's concession to this. That's enough hassle for consumers that there's still a reason for mac software to be developed, but good enough to run that killer app you can't live without.

i 100% agree. no more developement on the mac front would be the end to all macs. also, parallels helps with running the killer app too.

Why do you say that? I would have to disagree with that completely. It is a well done game that, while it isn't hardcore fantasy like the other Elder Scroll games before it, is still fun and at times even relaxing.

First off, the plot is terrible. You wake up in a prison, with amnesia. The two stupidest clichés, ever, somehow rolled into some mega-stupid cliché. Then you meet a king, who randomly, trusts you, a criminal, and gives you a magical amulet and entrusts you with a quest to save the world from gateways to Hell. Seriously, this is the dumbest plot ever written.

Then, the battle system is even worse. There's no strategy to it, it's just attack, heal, attack, heal. Worse yet, it's slow and incredibly awkward. Unlike other button mashing games, like Kingdom Hearts, that make the battle happen fast enough to make it almost feel like you're doing something, Oblivion doesn't even try. It takes like thirty seconds for your character to slowly and awkwardly attack someone with a sword. There's no skill or strategy involved, whatsoever. A plot you can live without. Gameplay, you can't, and Oblivion has the most singularly awful gameplay of any RPG I can recall (and that says a lot, as much as I love RPGs, some of them are pretty terrible).

Yeah, I suppose it has nice graphics. That doesn't make up for the fact that the rest of the game is so frustratingly terrible. Anyway, now that I've gotten that off my chest, what do you like about it? I largely assumed it was just incredibly hyped, I haven't yet met anyone that genuinely likes it
