I have an iBook G4 with a 40 gig hard drive. I got it used, but off a mac specialist who cleaned up the harddrive and installed everything to make it normal. it runs 10.4.8.

The problem is the Library and System collectively take up nearly half of the 40 gigs!

WHAT GIVES? What can I do to get some space back?!

you can delete printer drivers you dont use, and use a program called monolingual to get rid of the languages you dont use.

i got rid of the printer drivers.. and tried monolingual. Is it SAFE to remove the language files? I've been reading some other forum posts that say it has ruined applications..
