I would like to know how to change the main username/owner of my iMac 350SL running OS 10.4.8 Tiger. How can I do this w/o wiping the drive and freshly installing Tiger?

I never used this app before, so don't blame me if your computer explodes, but if you want to try it at your own risk, try this.

You can change the username but not the short name. For that, you need to make a new user with admin privileges, copy your old users folders into your new one, overwriting them and then change ownership of all your old files to the new user. This is quite easily done using the terminal and chown u=<new short name> -R <folder>. You will need to do this for the odd file lying around as well as the home folder.
