Any programmers here?

I'm wondering if anyone else here spends time coding, as I am getting my MacBook Pro this summer to do some programming on (I already have a few years of Windows C++ programming under my belt.) If any of you do write Cocoa programms, do you have any suggestions, like somthing I should read or a tutorial I should go through before/after I get my Mac? I help my school w/ Mac problems, so I'm sure I don't need the "Previous Windows User Help". (Isn't it amazing that even though a Mac is pretty straight forward, Windows users appear to need to go to PC rehab before they can use their Mac?) All I have looked at so far is Apple's "Cocoa Fundamentals".

I might be anticipating a little too much, but don't think I intend to read about Cocoa every second untill this Summer or somthing like that, but I would like somthing to do when I am bored and my MacBook Pro floats to the top of my mind.

I don't want to spend money on anything YET though, because I don't even have the Mac itself yet...

Also, is sneaking some C++ into a Cocoa program a hard/evil thing?

EDIT: Upon second thought, I do hope this fits under software...
