S.M.A.R.T.: not enabled

does anyone know how to enable S.M.A.R.T. on my 12" powerbook g4? or my ipod as well?

both things report same problem when i try to restore them.

    I don't think you can use SMART over a USB or Firewire link, so iPod is out of the question. I don't know when Powerbooks started using SMART, there is a chance that your notebook hard drive or the Powerbook doesn't support it.
