I'm a newbie too and a total apple dumb-dumb. I have no clue about your question. I just wanted to say welcome. The folks on this site have helped me so much. I'm sure one will help you out soon...

OK, do you see the multi-coloured apple in the left upper corner of the screen? Click there, and then point to "Control Panels" (I hope I remember correctly the name). In there you will find the control panel "TCP/IP", which will open once you click it. From it you can provide the necessary information in order to connect to the internet.

Do you want to use a dial-up modem or broadband? If the latter, what kind of broadband modem do you have?

    Welcome to AI!

Wow. 9.2. That was some time ago for some of us; I'll be darned if I can remember well enough to walk you through it without causing some problems.

Somebody will likely still have an old machine running 9.2 or so. Wait a few days for everyone to look through the threads.

Try checking the Help menu and searching for "Internet" "TCP".

You might want to check the APple Discussion board for OS 9:

Wish I could be of more help, but five years is a long time.
