problem wih downloads in safari and firefox

hi there i am a newbie to macs having just purchasd a macbook.....my problem is I cannot download files from avsim.com in otder to play on flight simulator 2004 on my pc ....when i click on "Download" it just freezees up......this happens in both safari and firefox for os x....what is causing this problem?
