external hard disk

Hi all, recently I just bought external hard disk but my iBook G3 it couldn;t detect to my EHD.

do I have to instal the driver coz I don't get one when I bought it? when I tried in windows it seems work.

    Assuming you are running OS10.3 or later, simply launch Disk Utility.app and format the new drive.



    Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility.app

    hi thank you for your answer. I tried to use disk utility but it still doesn;t detect my external hard disk. it showed only my internal hard disk.

    what should i do about that?

    if you are using a 2.5 external drive, via USB, make sure you have enough power to spin it, ie - use powered usb 2.0 hub.
