Wireless without AirPort???

Why can't i use my D-Link wireless network card (DWL-650+) on my powerbook. I just switched to mac from pc and thats why i own that card. Do i have to use Apple AirPort (11Mbps). Could i get special drivers somewhere. D-Link only supports windows an shit.

    You can use any wireless card that uses the 802.11b standard. It should fit in the pcmcia slot of your Mac PowerBook and recognize either an AirPort Base Station or other wireless access point. If you need drivers for the Mac you might check out <a href="http://wirelessdriver.sourceforge.net/"; target="_blank">The Wireless Driver HomePage</a>. I was using one of their drivers on an old Wallstreet PowerBook and OS X with no problems.
