Apple/emagic low end music app?

in Mac Software edited January 2014
Well, where is it?

Not that they promised it or anything, but why haven't we got iMusic or iStudio or something like that? Surely, not everybody is going to want to blow their dough on the high end gear.

Actually, iTunes was named (or code-named) iMusic right up until its launch. In the keynote presentation, Steve Jobs actually called it iMusic!

Naming issues aside, I'd just love to see an iApp for audio editing. Amadeus II is a great little app, but I find its limitation to two tracks hindering. Of course, I suspect an iApp would be just as if not more stripped down and feature-limited.

I actually have always wondered why they didn't go with iMusic myself!

[mini rant]I mean they don't have iSnaps or iPics (iPhoto) or iFlicks (iMovie), so why did they choose to trivialise the art form of music and refer to their iapp as iTunes????[/mini rant]

phew - feels good to get that off my chest!
