Ram Memory management

Hello everyone!

I have recently opened the activity monitor to check the system memory, and i saw that the free memory was about 50 Mb and at the same time the inactice was about 500MB.

I have the white macbook 2GHz 1GB RAM 80GB hard disk.

Do I have to upgrade my ram, or the inactive memory is something similar to the free one?
