Emulate Mac OS X in Mac OS X

Hi,

I got Mac OS X 10.1 (Cheetah), and where wondering if there are any possible way to run it on my Macbook or Mini (both are Intel)?

I got a Powermac G4 that could run it, but because it's my server, I won't do it.

The only reason I want to try the 10.1 version of OS X, is just because I want to try it, and because of the nostalgia

So, are there any emulator for an Intel Mac that can run a PowerPC OS?

Thanks for suggestions

Try Parallels. I think it should do what you want.

Might be useful for what you need it for....

    Parallels provides Intel virtual machines.

OSX 10.1 is PowerPC only. So it cannot run under Parallels.

By the way, Parallels cannot run any version of OSX, even if it's an intel version.

Nope. If this was the case, people would be running OS X on their PCs and they have tried. PearPC seems to be the best PPC emulator on an Intel Machine but it's really for Windows. Of course, you could run Windows on your Intel Mac and then run PearPC inside that:

OS X hasn't really changed much since the earlier releases to be honest. It's not like Win95 vs Win 98 vs XP. It's more like XP vs SP1 vs SP2. All you will see is OS X minus features like Dashboard, expose and spotlight and things will run slower.

You want nostalgia...I still have a copy of the Mac OS X PUBLIC BETA Of course you would need to turn the clock back to be able to install it (might as well get into the retro spirit). Remember the blue Apple icon in the centre of the menu bar!!!

If any collector out there wants to make me an offer...I'll be happy to sell.
