Wireless Network: Only as strong as the weakest link?
I set up a wireless network with my new Airport Extreme (n) base station as the main base station and my old Airport Extreme (g) as a remote base station via WDS. The AE(g) is not plugged into an Ethernet line, but the AE(n) is. Under this set up, both base stations show up under a single network. What I am wondering is, does having the slower AE(g) base station in the same network as the faster AE(n) base station slow down the connection to my n-enabled Mac Pro via that single network to the speed of the slower AE(g)? Or is my computer communicating with one or both of the base stations at the same time? If only one, how do I know/select which one?
