Upgrade Timelines

Hi,



I'm curious about individuals' upgrade paths. Some people buy a computer, use it until things start getting slow and then buy another (say every 3/4 years). Others seem to trade-up at a much more frequent rate. Obviously, the Mac Pro owners are more flexible as separate parts can be changed.



Personally, in the past I've averaged a 4 year gap between upgrades but I'm thinking of speeding it up.



What do people here do? Anyone have any good trade-up tips?

    I upgrade much like you. I buy something and then wait for it to get slow and cumbersome, then upgrade. My current computer is about 4 yrs old, and soon I will get getting a new iMac.
