Sony will sell OLED Tv's this year. what does this mean to us?
We discussed this in another thread from the news, but I thought it might be better here.
This is good news. What effect, if any, does this have on Apple. don't forget that Sony built computers for Apple before, as well as supplting CD and DVD players, and drives, among other things.
An 11" model. Do we see the ultra compact coming?

11" video iPod.
I'll hold out for the 10" iPhone, though.

This is good long term news, but it will be kept for the Sony brand for now. They are only going to be producing 1,000 pannels a month for a worldwide market. Also:
"OLED sets are very expensive, and we mean to begin first by marketing the TVs as a status symbol," said Sony's Kazuhiro Imai, a senior manager of the company's TV and Video business group. "We will see where the business goes from there."
Apple is not going to be getting any of these soon, we will have to wait for the next step when they can boost production as well as size, even then they will probably be costly.
Who knows, it's possible that by the time Macworld rolls around, we might see something.
