Hi,

How does one go about adding a WEP password to secure an internet connection.

We have a Linksys router and 3 Mac's all with Airport cards. How can I add a WEP key to stop anyone else using the network.

Thanks in advance.

The Linksys router admin tool should provide a means of securing the wireless connection. Typically you go to http://192.168.1.1 to log into the admin tool on the router. Check your documentation that came with the router, or if you don't have it, go to the Linksys web site and check their technical support pages.

Use M.A.C. filtering, it is fairly effective without the messiness of WEP encryption. If you're not too paranoid...

MAC addresses are so much easier to spoof though...

Add WPA encryption instead of WEP (that can be cracked in less than one hour nowadays) PLUS use MAC address filtering. That should be enough security for a home network.
