Powerbook G4 hard drive is dead - recommendations for replacement?
The hard drive in my 15" Powerbook G4 has suddenly died and I am looking for a replacement. I was wondering if anybody could give me any recommendations. I believe I am looking for something from the pre-SATA drive era but I am not sure of the exact format. I would preferably like one with a 7200 RPM speed but cost is a factor so please keep any suggestions reasonable. Also, as an aside, I would just like to be sure that it is my hard drive that is dead and not something else. When I try and boot up, the hard drive makes a horrible clicking noise and will not be recognized by the computer but the computer will boot from an installation CD or an external drive. This means that the cause is most likely a dead drive, correct?
Thanks for all the help.
