Adobe, Microsoft and PDF

This may be old news but what Adobe has planned for PDF interests me. It has made me think on another tangent but I don't think it is too far from what Adobe may have in mind.



So I'll formulate the following question for discussion:

How well would an Adobe office suite compete with Microsoft's Office?

    hahaha could I take an xdocs document down to the printers and get back a lovely 100% colour correct pile of posters with pantone lovelyness? probably not. And thus pdf is more useful

    Right, and EVERY computer has Acrobat Reader. No matter who you give a document to, a Windows user, mac user, Solaris user, Unix user, Linux user, etc. they will at least be able to open it and print it if necessary. Maybe more. Corel can't compete, neither can Lotus. The only company I see with enough clout is Adobe.
